I am using Ubuntu 12.04 64bit quite successfully. I do a lot of image processing and for what I was trying to do, GIMP was not going to cut it. I looked around and found out Fotoxx which would have been a good tool and installed it.
Well, after installing Fotoxx, I have noticed that GIMP does not work for me and I am at a loss as to why that would happen.
I've tried Darktable, Fotoxx and GIMP, and it's still GIMP all the way for me.Darktable has waaay more functions than i need and Fotoxx (though fantastic for post-processing) doesn't give me the paint functions that GIMP does. Some new ones on that list that i'd not heard of and will investigate further, so many thanks for posting!
Fotoxx, a complex and free image manipulation software for GNU/Linux platforms, has reached version 14.07 on June 30 and is now available for download from Softpedia or via the default software repositories of your Linux distribution.
