Applications run within a virtual desktop of a WINEPREFIX can change the resolution quite happily, I'm wondering if there is a way that I can force a wine virtual desktop to change it's resolution without closing all application in the WINEPREFIX.

I have not downloaded Wine, nor can I find it on my computer. But I do plan to, probably after the final 12.04 release.
I have been to Winehq, read just about everything there, then went to the Wine Wiki and read just about everything there. And yet, I cannot find a detailed How To for wine.
Maybe I just missed it.
Being an old game, Starcraft runs only in 640x480 resolution. Which on a 1980x1050 screen is tiny. But all the settings in winecfg to create a virtual desktop and such have no effect at all. No matter what I set, it's always that tiny window.
Anything I can do to play at a bigger size?

I'm wondering how to go about getting a WINE patch implemented quickly into general release? The bug effects the newly released Lord of the Rings Online game, and possibly other applications as well, but it's really a WINE bug so I hope I posted in the right place.
Currently running 12.04.1 LTS w/ WINE 1.5.15.
