Hello,
I'm new to Linux. Anyway, I'm trying to customize my BackTrack4 image so I can use the live disk with my ati graphic card. While trying to put the drivers with the apt-get install ati-driver command, I get the following message:

hi
when i try to install or remove any package i get this error
Quote:
(Reading database ... 5%dpkg: unrecoverable fatal error, aborting:
files list file for package `libsox-fmt-alsa' contains empty filename
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (2)
i'm using ubuntu 9.10
OK,
I know now that I shouldn't have deleted the installed files, I should have run "apt-get remove", but it's too late now.
I'd like to clean up apt/dpkg so that it doesn't think the package whose files I've deleted is still installed, but when I run:
Code:
apt-get remove --purge linux-image-2.6.32-2.slh.4
I get the following:
Hi all,
I haven't done much with apt-get before, but I am trying to upgrade lighttpd. I have been told lighttpd is installed via an unstable .deb package, and when I use apt-get -fsu install lighttpd, apt-get tells me it is already the newest version.
$ sudo apt-get -fsu install lighttpd
