Hi!
After upgrading to Precise Pangolin (12.04), I've been getting garbled text every now and again. Although it's not a serious problem, it's a tad annoying and slows down my work.
The problem only seems to occur with text in text editors, text in nautilus and in the terminal.
Hi guys,Just borked my system by upgrading my Fedora from 14 to 15. But its not really serious as I wanted to move over to a more stable/light system in anycase, and this was the best opportunity to do so. Luckily everything is backed up.I downloaded the Statler installation disc yesterday and burned it to a DVD.

HI,
I can see the Horizontal black lines in text while scrolling in Firefox only some times see attached screen-shot
Is it something related font rendering or display issue..?
I also see this in Ubuntu Software center when it is showing the "Installing" text but only when scrolling up and down..
My details.
I just installed Ubuntu server 11.10 and the install went fine. This system is running on an Intel Pentium II board with onboard graphics.
In a text field you might place the cursor, and backspace over text, but the effects are not displayed - unless you zoom out or in (ctrl+ or -).
You try to highlight text, but nothing is highlighted in the display.
Did a dvd/iso upgrade from F16 to F17 (thats a whole 'nother story). The Text/Display that is supposed to show up when Grub first boots is now just garbled - no readable text.
I do see a quick GRUB for about 1 second.
it is a dual boot with Win XP.
I am trying to use tasker to read at random any 1 of 3 lines of text from a text file on my /SD when I ask it "how are you?"
I have the lines set out like this in the text file:
great, how are you
;;;
fine thanks
;;;
not so good
;;;
I have tried using the "File" action and "Read Line", and know I have to put %VOICE ~ *how are you* in the bottom
