So I've flashed a few ROMs on my phone, and decided I liked CM10 the best. I was previously using Slimbean 4.1.1 and was in the process of re-flashing CM10. I accidentally flashed (I THINK) the RemICS 4.0.1 ROM and got a bunch of error messages. Panicked, cleared all data, dalvik cache, the whole 9 yards and flashed the CM10 zip.
ok, so i just rooted my One X (AT&T) running 2.20 using the unlock-bootloader method (only one out there, right? :D)
i want to flash the latest stable CM10 rom (named cm-10.0.0-evita.zip), but i hear all this stuff about flashing the kernel or the boot.img first before flashing the rom...? i've never rooted/flashed on HTC before, so forgive me if it seems noobish.
Hey guys. I've finally rooted my phone and got flash happy. I stayed with CM10 overall, but want to got back to stock. Trouble is I have the stock image I downloaded from I believe samsungs official site? It is for verizon it says on the zip anyways.
I unlocked bootloader and rooted via the toolkit, but now I want to install CM10, Can I flash this through the TWRP or do I need to use CWM?
Okay I know this is a noob question so PLEASE excuse my noob-ism. Not sure if this should be in Q&A or Dev so please move to the correct section if I posted in the wrong one.
Okay, so my phone was originally 4.0.4 with a 1.19 HBOOT and 4.1 Sense.
This is my first rooted device and I'd like to set the CPU frequency higher. I've read that 1600 is moderately safe and 1800 is feasible. After installing setcpu I've realized that CM10's kernel does not allow overclocking. What is the best action to take? Am I out of luck if I want to stick with CM10? Or is there another kernel I can use compatible with CM10?
I'm a newb so I'm new at this. I rooted my N7 today and installed a (kernel maybe? sorry I don't know what I'm talking about) from poitee using a guide that used Nexus Root Toolkit. Everything went well FWIW but this time I don't have an article to follow so I'm a little lost.
Well, if I understand this bootloader situation enough, we can't edit .kdz files because they are encrypted. Thus disabling us from flashing CM stuff. However, if we can't edit stuff before we flash, is it possible to edit stuff after we flash? For example, mini stuff like these
CM10 boot screen
CM10 launcher
CM10 apps? (Messaging, Contacts)
CM10 Themes?
Other CM10 stuff?
Ok, so I searched high and low and saw nothing about anyone who couldn't get there GS3 to boot at all . . .
So My rogers I747M was succesfully rooted with Odin root not trip. And then i flashed It with the generic rooted jelly bean ROM. Successful again everything seemed fine. So i was confident in shooting for CM10(even though ive had troubles in the past) And i put the zip.
