Fixing Linux Image Generic

http://serverfault.com – By accident I uninstalled the linux-generic metapackage at some time ago. In the intervening time I installed a mainline testing kernel (3.5.0-11). After that I installed a normal ubuntu kernel (3.5.10-generic, and 3.5.10-genric-extra) Now when I want to install the linux-image-genric package it fails with an error like: The following packages have unmet dependencies: linux-image-generic : Depends: linux-image-3.5.0-11-generic but it is not installable Depends: linux-image-extra-3.5.0-11-generic but it is not installable E: Unable to correct problems, you have held (HowTos)
