First Time- Need Help With Internet

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – I saved my father's old laptop by installing Fedora off of a dvd included in Linux For Dummies. Everything is working okay, except for the internet connection. When I right-click on the Network Manager applet, it gives me a menu with only Enable Networking, Connection Information, which is faded and unusable, and About. What do I do to connect the laptop to our WiFi connection? Also, before the laptop died, it was running Windows XP. It would not log onto the internet at our house, but it would connect everywhere else. This makes me wonder if something is wrong with the wireless card. Th (HowTos)

Hi. This is an old problem for me, but apparently insolveable. Thought I'd try again, maybe someone here can help.

I cannot use the wireless internet connection in my house. My computer sees the connection. It is ChinaNet-zbgJ. The password is xutuhamh

The router is brand new, installed yesterday. The internet provider upgraded me and made the connection a bit faster.

I am running Ubuntu 11.04 on my laptop and I use a 3G USB modem for my Internet connection.

I wanted to share this Internet connection with my girlfriend's laptop that is running Window XP. Basically, I created the the wireless connection on my laptop and now it just connects and disconnects all the time. Why is it doing this?

I am using a USB modem to connect to the internet from my laptop. My laptop has WIFI enabled, Is it possible to share my internet connection with my IPOD using the WIFI.

I have tried looking many tutorials, from the internet. Everything talks about wired connection and changing IPv4 connection settings.

I am trying to create a wifi network based around my ubuntu laptop with my iphone 3g tethered to it by usb cable for an internet connection. I would like to be able to share this internet connection with other devices that connect to this network and and perform various other network functions between devices on this network such as smb file sharing and ssh.

The problem is in the title.. I'm using an old laptop to distribute the internet connection.

The hotspot was created easily, and i can connect one device at a time, and use the internet provided by the old laptop. If i connect 2 devices, both of them loose internet connection, and the wifi keeps disconnecting. Is it a hardware problem?

Hello, I am living in China currently and i have to use a pppoe connection to connect to the internet. My problem occurs when i normally connect to the internet using the:

sudo pon dsl-provider

This connects me for around 25 seconds to the internet and than just hangs up and stops the connection. Does anyone know why this occurs?

I'm running the latest version (as of yesterday anyways) of Ubuntu. 64bit for desktop, but installed on my laptop if it makes a difference. I had windows 7 preinstalled when i bought it and it worked fine with the wireless from my house and bridging the connection with a LAN to my xbox for Live. Now with Ubuntu I tried the same setup, but I'm unfamiliar with Ubuntu so I didn't get far.

Hello. I brought my computer with Ubuntu 9.10 installed alongside Windows Vista home for the Christmas break. I turned it on today in hopes that I could get on, play around with Linux a little bit, and then do some homework on it.
