I recently picked up a ASUS Laptop which has quad core AMD Sabine with ATI 6720g2 graphics. Due to the graphic chipset being latest, the existing Catalyst on Archimedes ISO doesn't install, however after pacman -Syu the newer Catalyst does install and run without any glitches. However suspend remains an issue unless and until latest 12.2 is installed.
I suspend my laptop (pm-suspend) often and sometimes my desktop (pm-suspend-hybrid) fairly often. I am using the latest ubuntu (13.10, saucy).
Is there a way I could run a command when I go into suspend or immediately after coming out of suspend? I'd like to kill any open output ssh connections and stop offlineimap, since the timeout for those tends to be annoying. Ideas?
As the title says: Close lid does not suspend. To get suspend working i had to install the latest Catalyst driver, but it only works if i choose suspend either from the logout menu or from the (xfce) powermanagement icon which comes by default with lubuntu. I looked into /etc/systemd/logind.conf where all statements are outcommented by default.
How do I suspend? If I run pm-suspend as root suspend and recovery works great (it's quick) but there's no shortcut or icon that I can see. If I click on my username in the upper right corner I see Switch User, Logout, Lock and Power Off but nothing that indicates suspend.
Maybe something is running that is blocking suspend?
Me too, but I got annoyed by typing my password everytime I wanted to quickly suspend the system. I got the command mapped to the corresponding FN Keys on my Notebook aswell now, I'm just wondering why such a feature is not included in a stable Release? Anyway I'm glad I could help some of you
