Hi, i'm having problems to install F12 on my Macbook 5,2.
In the better situation I started the F12 one time after installation, and nevermore.
In my last attempt, I follow it:
>First I installed MAC OSX snow leopard, with 2 partitions in HD;
>Installed rEFIt and following the tutorial that I found on WEB, I copied rEFIt to EFI hidden partition;
Hello everybody,
i'll start by mentioning that i'm new to linux and i've decided that it is time I learnt more about it. i'm trying to install Fedora 17 on vmware workstation 8. i have created a virtual machine and i'm trying to install from Fedora 17 DVD but installation hangs at the beginning.
Having installed Ubuntu 10.04.1 by wubi from XP I cant boot to start Ubuntu. The install app let me 2 options in windows loader. 1.- Windows Xp Professional. and 2.- Ubuntu. If I acces the frist option I get access to Windows Xp correctly but if select 2.
Hello friends,
I have bought a HP-g6-2230sa laptop, which comes with win8.
I have managed to install fedora18 in it.
But the problem is I cannot make it to boot f18 by default. The usual process to boot to fedora is: start the machine-> be very fast to press F9-> select Fedora (or else it will go to os boot manager and will boot win8).
I tried installing win 8 and had to cancel the setup at a point. And now when I start my pc an error comes up like:
Find --set_root- --ignore floppies-.../bootmgr
Error 15: file not found
Press any key to continue...
And when I press a key it goes to the red grub4dos menu, and there are a lot of options there, but I have no idea what to do. I have win 7 installed but don't know how to boot it.
Hello!
I installed fedora on a PC with Win7 on it from live-usb and had an error:
"There was an error installing the bootloader. The system may not be bootable.
**Windows 7 Professional**
**Ubuntu 12.10**
While trying to set up dual boot, I chose the first option in the Ubunutu by accident that said "Replace Windows 7".
When I start to boot and I get the grub loader it has at the top:
Ubuntu
Advanced Options for Ubuntu,
then goes to my dual boot system win 7,
My question is that if I select the plan "Ubuntu" it opens up a terminal type log in asing for my username and password, if I enter that it then goes to my name and wants a command, I enter "startx" and it will go to my screen in versio
First the problem: After a new 13.04 install, on startup I am greeted with GRUB; I can properly boot into Ubuntu, but if I choose Win7 from GRUB it says Windows did not start properly.
