I own Gnex which shipped with yakjuxw firmware, but after following a guide here on xda I unlocked the bootloader and flashed stock (yakju) Android 4.0.4 (the newest version for which Google provided factory images at that time). I soon received the 4.1.1 ota update and everything went smoothly.
Today I was charging my phone while it was off, but needed to start it to search something.
The update manager downloaded the files correctly and then started to DPKG them.
I received a notification that several services including CUPS etc needed to be restarted which I accepted.
There was then a notification box that contained only the square symbol in place of letters.

I have rooted my SGS3 using the ALLINONE root from SGS3 Toolkit (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1703488) and it works fine. About a month ago I got a notice about a firmware update and I installed it using kies. The root ofcause dissappeared but I used the toolkit to re-root the device. No problem so far.

I just bought a Note 10.1 with wifi version(N8013) from somewhere (Hong Kong just sells 3g version only).
However, the firmware do not support Chinese as a default language.
So, are there any firmware available that can support Chinese?
Moreover, is the firmware for N8010 compatible with N8013?

I rebooted my tablet today if it was notified of a new firmware update. The new version is 10.4 .2 413. I haven't found a change log, so don't know what fixes have been implemented. Just letting you guys know to check for a firmware update if you're using stock JB. If anyone can find out what has changed please post here.
So pretty much I'm unable to update to the lates 4.0.4 that was just released (I'm currently on stock Taiwan firmware)
1. OTA gave me this error: N7000 failed to update firmware due to network or server problem. Try software update via Settings > Software update > Update, or try usng PC kies later.

I'm wondering if anyone have had the same problem I have. Since my firmware update on Friday I have not been able to use my data properly. When I go to the app store I can't download apps. I used to be able to and now I can only do so with WiFi.
I can't even updatey widgets like the weather network either. But with WiFi I can.
And now a new problem has arised.

I am aware that one can update the firmware of galaxy note via Kies, the software update option probably relates to Kies and not to the phone itself, right?
So what if one does not have a laptop, how else could one update the phone? Is it even necessary? What use does it have?
