Firefox keeps locking up...

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – Before I say anything, I think you should know that I really like to download YouTube videos. :D I found an addon for Firefox that will download them. Great, huh? Well, it is great if Firefox would let me use it...it keeps locking up randomly...it seems to only lock up when opening a webpage, maybe it's just me. When it locks up it usually locks up for about 2 minutes at a time, which is hindering me from downloading my YouTube videos. :dis: If anyone can help, thanks, if you can't, thanks for the thought, at least. :) (HowTos)

Stories similar to Firefox keeps locking up...

It started a few days ago, around Feb 14.

I'm running Firefox on Ubuntu, Lucid Lynx, with Shockwave Flash (flash player) 11.2 r202 which was just updated on Feb 15.

Just about that time I noticed that some of the videos on youtube.com won't play, the video play object says "This video is currently unavailable".

Then after a while, more and more until all videos on youtube.com wo

I have been using youtube-dl to download videos from YouTube, but suddenly it stopped working:

youtube-dl is not working 33 weeks 4 days ago

I am using youtube-dl to download some videos from youtube. But when I write:

youtube-dl http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rn_YodiJO6k

I get:

ERROR: unable to download video

What am I doing wrong?

Chromium is a cool browser, sadly it doesnt let me download any youtube videos anymore. And just for this cause i dont want to install Firefox for that task only.

I reply to myself but I have found the flash video replacer extension to firefox. It is able to launch an external player for flash videos on main site that use flash to play video (youtube, etc...). It works great for these websites and allow me to see high quality mp4 video on youtube with my 5 years old computers using mplayer.

Minitube has been working great for a lot of the youtube links, but for videos that require confirmation that you're older than 18, they don't work. Is there something I can do about this?

Or if there's a better way to download the videos do tell.
