There's been a number of people looking to install Firefox in Statler. Even though it is essentially the same thing as iceweasel, users are reporting that iceweasel is somewhat slower than Chrome or Firefox.Thankfully Clem at Linuxmint is now packaging Firefox for Debian. At the time of writing it is at version 3.6.8 which is more up to date than iceweasel which is at 3.5.11.

Mozilla uploaded a few hours ago, January 7, the final packages of the Mozilla Firefox 18.0 web browser for all supported platforms, including Linux, Mac OS X and Windows.
Actually, Mozilla Firefox 18.0 was supposed to be officially announced by Mozilla on January 6, but there is no release announcement for it at the time of writing this.

Today is a great day for us as a new stable version of Firefox / Iceweasel is going to be published: 6.0. I saw that in mozilla.debian.net a backport to Squeeze is already available (only Intel). So I will start working on backporting IW6 to MintPPC 9 for us powerpc users soon.
