After months of development, Unity is ready for mainstream usage as Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal stable version has been released. We have come a long way from alpha testing to public betas and now the final release.
Ubuntu's latest release (code named Natty Narwhal) is finally out and I grabbed a copy of it to check it out. Canonical has gotten some flack for this release since it uses Unity as the default desktop instead of the usual GNOME interface.
Much has been written about the fact that the next version of Ubuntu, Natty Narwhal, will switch its interface from GNOME to Canonical's own Unity interface.
