I installed FTP Server Services on my IIS 8.5/Windows 7 workstation, and tried to FTP using FileZilla from my laptop (client - Windows 8). I tried to configure the Network Settings using Network Wizard on FileZilla, and here is the output.
I can connect from filezilla client linux to a vsftpd server on a linux box. On the filezilla client, once i connect, i am trying to change the mode to EPRT. For this, I go to Server -> Enter custom command and type in 'EPRT'. I get 500 bad protocol.
I want to set up my desktop computer with FileZilla server so that I can connect to it on my laptop via FTP using FileZilla client. I do not want to make the server accessible outside of my internet connection, so I am assuming that opening a port on my router is not necessary. How can I do this?

I have the filezilla GUI FTP client running on Ubuntu. If I retrieve a file from an FTP server, saving the file 'locally' in a directory that is accessed via Samba (mounted via GVFS) then filezilla just seems to hang after retrieving and writing some data and the filezilla window goes grey. I have to 'Force Quit' filezilla.
