Hi everybody. I am in desperate need of some help here. My system configuration is Intel core 2 duo processor P8600 2.4GHz(2 CPUs) and I have a 2GB RAM. I downloaded an image of BT5 r2 from the official site.
Attempting to create a Centos 6 machine from scratch.
I've posted before but this is such a basic issue...
When using a "Live" CD image the machine (aged Dell Poweredge 1300) boots fine, but this image is not good for installation. When burning "bootable" CDs e.g. Full install or network install the machine does not recognize the disk as a bootable CD/DVD.
We're using CentOS on various servers in Japan.
Recently, I found that mirrorlist.centos.org returns servers in China.
It makes "yum update" slow.
This problem occurs on "update" repo.
Our tries and results are follows:
## "os" repository
$ curl "http://mirrorlist.centos.org/?release=6.5&arch=x86_64&repo=os"
Did you open the correct ports in the iptables firewall on the Linux machine? If you changed the host file entry on the Windows machine to point "centos-1" to a different IP address then ... [by TrevorH]
