Krusader is one of those must-have computing tools that turns difficult or tedious computing tasks into easy, point-and-click operations. It's an advanced twin-panel file manager that's loaded with features. When I made the switch from the Windows to the Linux operating system, I had a short list of program requirements.
When it comes to file managers, Linux users are spoiled for choice. But that doesn't stop developers from building tools for juggling files. Take Sunflower, for example. This file browser is built for speed, and it will appeal to fans of the twin-panel interface. Indeed, Sunflower's unobtrusive and lightweight interface allows you to manage files with consummate ease.
I'm running Statler Openbox. How do I change the default file manager, so that when I "open containing folder" in Firefox or other browser, it will open the folder in the file manager I prefer?I want PCManFM as my default, but I also want to keep Thunar installed (good to have a backup, and Thunar's great for bulk renaming).
Hi, I use Fedora 17 KDE spin, 32 bits,
I am a happy krusader (file manager) user.
I have been interested in trying some different file managers lately, and I have installed spacefm. It seems fine, but I don't dislike Thunar either. The only thing that I am really missing in Thunar is tabs. I have read most of the spacefm posts on the forum, but they're mostly opinions as to whether they like spacefm or not. What I would like to know is specific
Spare a thought for old time stalwarts like Konqueror. Many great features have been stripped out but it's still a a great file manager (and a decent browser) even if Dolphin has been promoted as the default file manager of the KDE desktop. Back in the day, Konqueror was able to handle lots of media without having to open a separate application.

I am working to update one of my scripts:
Recursive Prepending Script
I was using a fixed file extension and that was pretty easy to deal with in terms of accounting for variable cases (by using [Ff] &c within the loop).
However, I'm trying to allow the user to select the file extension.
I have a file like this:
Code:
00510010 0000000471 000000000482.90 000000005855.49
00510015 0000000471 000000002280.81 000000003093.79
