http://forums.fedoraforum.org – Hi all I have this tons of mov files, that I need to watch, and My VLC won't play them. I then looked in to how I could convert them in to a format I can trust VLC to play, and I went for ogv. I got my hands on OggConvert, and what a fine program it is, but it have no batch mode, or command line interface, I can use for multiplied mov files. I then started to look at ffmpeg, but the formats ffmpeg support, give me a none use able output, there is way to "grumsy" to look at. I did try some different formats, here also MP4 there was the most successful, but if I ask ffmpeg to -sameq it takes up way to much space, and without the -sameq if is just as "grumsy" as the ogg. What shall I ask ffmpeg to convert my mov files to? Is there have to be a way to keep the quality and then convert it to a open standard? If I ask ffmpeg to display information regarding my mov files it outputs this: Seems stream 0 codec frame rate differs from container frame rate: 1500.00 (1500/1) -> 15.00 (15/1) Input #0, mov,mp4,m4a,3gp,3g2,mj2, from '04 01. Realism overview.mov': Duration: 00:02:56.26, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 288 kb/s Stream #0.0(eng): Video: h264, yuv420p, 960x600, 213 kb/s, 15 tbr, 750 tbn, 1500 tbc Stream #0.1(eng): Audio: aac, 48000 Hz, 1 channels, s16, 70 kb/s Metadata major_brand : qt minor_version : 537199360 compatible_brands: qt So I need a format, that ffmpeg or another tool, there can process multiplied mov files, and give me a reasonable alternative from my mov files.
