I have been trying to boot the Fedora 17 installer on my 2011 Mac Mini (model MacMini5,1) without success. Has anyone else attempted this? I am using the network installer, I downloaded the iso and copied it to a USB drive. The boot begins but then hangs partway through the installation.
Apple has just updated the Mac Mini to a new, faster configuration with Intel Core i5 or i7 with Ivy Bridge as well as up to a terabyte of hard drive space. The Mini also comes in a server configuration for $999 with a faster processor.
This model can hold up to 16GB of RAM and it supports Bluetooth. It also has an Intel HD Graphics 4000 GPU in a package Mini fans will recognize.
I just installed Fedora as a dual-boot (other OS in Win7) on my Dell Inspiron 1750 and, of course, the wireless card is missing firmware.
The wireless card is called Dell Wireless 1397 WLAN mini-card. When I run lspci on Fedora it says that the card is a BCM4312 802.11b/g LP-PHY (rev 01).
I made a new Fedora 17 (64 bit) install on my clevo p180HM laptop and there is no sound!: It worked on Fedora 16 (64 bit) with the newest available kernel 3.4.x but on Fedora 17 no chance.
Hello everybody! I'm looking for a smartphone to buy, but I can't choose between Ace and Mini 2. Wich one is better for the battery life time? If you already have one of them, then which do You recommend? I know, that Ace has a better camera and a flash, but it's older and slower than Mini 2. Mini 2 has a battery capacity which is less than Ace's, but screen is less too.
Anyone have any luck getting Fedora 18 network drivers to work with a Mac Mini late 2012 (macmini6,2)?
I've downloaded the broadcom driver source from http://www.broadcom.com/support/ethe...me_desktop.php but can't get it to make. Too many compile errors to list here.
How long typically before new NICs are supported in the kernel?

I just recently partitioned a laptop running widows 7 with Fedora 17. The wireless adapter on the computer is a DW1503 Wireless-N Half-Mini card. I am unable to get both wired and wireless connections when I boot to Fedora. When running an ifconfig I can see a p1p1 interface show up, but i'm not sure what that means either. Any Suggestions on what can be done?
Already a popular home theatre rig with many Mac fans, the made-over Mac Mini now sports HDMI output and enhanced Nvidia graphics plus a sleeker unibody aluminium case.
