We have gotten used to Fedora not making the deadline, so it wasn't surprising when the delay announcement came for Fedora 18 Beta. Dubbed Spherical Cow, Fedora 18 is powered by a development release of the upcoming Linux kernel 3.6 and brings numerous features, improvements and bug fixes over previous releases.

After several delays, the Fedora Project has officially released Fedora 18 (“Spherical Cow”), the latest version of its Linux-based operating system.
Fedora 19, recently dubbed Schrödinger's Cat, may overlap a little with Fedora 18 as the current targeted release date is late May, 2013.
To get things straight, Fedora 18 (Spherical Cow) hasn't been released and a Beta version was made available after seven delays.

The troubled Fedora 18 distribution is nearing its launch date and the developers have finally given the green light for the beta release, next week.
Every time Fedora 18 is trying to make a deadline window something happens and the release gets postponed.
Now that the Fedora 19 Alpha has been released earlier today, I am happy to introduce you to the features of the next major release of the Fedora Linux operating system.
Fedora 19 will be dubbed Schrödinger's Cat and it will be released sometime this summer, probably after many delays. The developement cycle of Fedora 19 comprised an Alpha release and a Beta version.
Kevin Fenzi announced a couple of days ago that the upcoming and highly anticipated Fedora 18 Beta release is now in Freeze, meaning that we will actually be able to download and test this important milestone of the Spherical Cow.
