Fedora 17 LXDE - After logging in Desktop does not shows up. Just wallpaper & Cursor

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – Hey I am having a weird problem. My laptop has Fedora 17 LXDE spin. Everything was working fine. Today when I booted it and login screen appeared without any pain ( http://bit.ly/RXhFGv ) When I logged in ( bit.ly/QvTavQ ) , I ended up at this - ( bit.ly/Pz5CKb ) - Just a Blank screen, with my wallpaper and mouse cursor. Desktop, application,etc nothing would show up. One problem I guessed could have been - My harddrive might be full ( 100% ) - so I booted it from live CD and deleted some files to create some space. But that did not helped. If someone can help me how to debug o (HowTos)

Hi,

I've installed Fedora 13 with XFCE as the desktop environment. When I login from the GDM, the screen goes black for a bit, then it just switches back to the login screen.

I've booted into runlevel 3 and logged in, but I'm not sure where to look now...

I am running 10.04.3 on VMWare workstation. I had the vm running just fine but after restarting it I only get the wallpaper and a cursor. I can switch to terminal (ctrl alt f2) and logon. But I do not get a desktop. I tried to restart gdm (sudo /etc/init.d/gdm restart) with no success. Any help is appreciated! thanks!

EDIT: I noticed it's not the wallpaper but the login screen.

HP Pavilion PV6700 - AMD 64x2 - 2G ram - Created live USB, got on and did a complete install. Now whenever I boot up it allows me to log on then goes to a blank screen and loads the mouse then just sits there.

I try to install Ubuntu in a VirtualBox (in Windows). It works perfectly. After that, I try to install on the physical machine. When setup ask if I want to "try" or "install", if i choose "try", I get faced with a wallpaper and a mouse cursor but thats it. Nothing else happens after that. No desktop, no icons, nothing but the wallpaper and mouse cursor. If I install happens.

Have dual monitors, and, when using kde, the wallpaper on the right screen is solid blue and not Constantine like the left screen. When clicking the cashew on the left screen (I can't believe there's cashews for both screens) it seems the wallpaper is pointed to Constantine, although the Author space is blank (it says Fedora project on the left screen).

Hello again,As some of you are probably aware, I deleted a bunch of old LXDE config files from my system yesterday. They were: .config/: lxpanel/, lxsession/, and lxterminal/. In .config/openbox/: lxde-rc.xml. This solved various formatting issues, but strangely enough I'm now having a new problem: Whenever I log in, my screen settings are reset to their defaults and my wallpaper is gone.

my laptop won't boot anymore, all goes well till i see the plymouth screen with the "drop" filling to the fedora logo. After that i get a black screen, gnome-shell doesn't seem to load.

when I press ctrl-alt-backspace, I get the login screen with cursor but I can do nothing.

Hello,

I have a problem with the taskbar (window list) in LXDE (latest Lubuntu release).

The window list doesn't expand to the full height of the taskbar, meaning that when my mouse cursor is at the very bottom of the screen i can't switch windows.

Here are 2 screenshots to illustrate the problem:
