I installed fedora 11 on this machine about 3 weeks ago. My printer, an HP Photosmart C4200, worked fine out of the box.
But I discover today that I cannot print anything. Not even a test page using CUPS (http://localhost:631/printers/). If I try to print something, it sits in the queue, but does not get printed.
Hi,
I am running 9.04 x64 on a Dell Inspiron 1720. My local (USB) printer is a Brother HL-5140 using the driver "Brother HL-5140 Foomatic/hl1250".
My localhost printer always prints PDF files 2-up. If I tell acroread to print 2-up, I get 4 pages per letter-sized sheet.
I have a Brother MFC-8890DW, which is very economical in terms of supply. But since I got the printer to print the cups (with default installation, and driver provided by arch linux) is very slow, especially in PDFs and images. Investigating a bit, I found that the slowness is caused by the cups, in preparing the file to be sent to the printer.
Hi, I want to install a network printer. I followed this tutorial:http://chakra-linux.org/wiki/index.php/ … ur_PrinterBut i fail to print. I can open http://localhost:631 and see all the list of printers and even print test pages from the web interface. However, I cannot print from, say, okular.
I've spent whole a day to find a way to install my brother mfc-7440 printer on ubuntu 9.1, unfortunately there in no ppd file for the model.
I followed the steps on Brother web site:
http://welcome.solutions.brother.com...en/before.html
Epson Stylus NX420 (on wireless network)
Fedora 18, 64 bit
I am using Cups to print but the print quality is really bad when printing from my fedora machine. It prints normally on my windows7 laptop.
I've had this printer for a few years. I've used it on Slackware, Linux Mint, Puppy, and Lubuntu and have all worked fine. But for some reason it wont work right in Fedora 17 or 18. Ideas?

I am running Fedora 12 32 bit version. I have httpd running, but in a browser when I go to http://localhost, it gives me the apache page. When I put in http://localhost/html, I get a 404 error. In the httpd.conf file for the ServerName, I have localhost:80.
