Fedora 17 : Cannot open font file True

http://unix.stackexchange.com – Each time I login to Fedora 17, no GUI, just a console and notice this error : Cannot open font file True. I have done some tutorial on web to fixed this problem, but still cannot. Here some step that I have done: 1) edit : /etc/default/grub vi /etc/default/grub. after that , change SYSFONT=True to SYSFONT=atarcyrheb-sun16 2) Edit : /etc/sysconfig/i18n. Same, change SYSFONT=True to SYSFONT=atarcyrheb-sun16 3) Rebuild Grub2 : by command grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg should notice that in my boot folder, I don't have grub2 directory. I must create first by : mkdir /boot/grub2 But (HowTos)

I'm trying to dual-boot Fedora 17 and Windows XP. I installed Fedora from the live-cd with no problem onto a second hard drive, and put GRUB2 on the first drive so it's the boot loader.

When I try to boot Fedora I get a "Cannot open file font True" message and it stops booting. I looked around and found that the error should only delay the booting, and found how to fix it.

Going through LFS 7.3 and about ready to make it bootable but Fedora's grub is giving me issue.

The plan was to share /boot between LFS and Fedora 18 as I have done in the past (been awhile since I ran LFS - LFS 4.something last time). Hell, I've shared /boot between Fedora, CentOS, Ubuntu, and LFS.

I just got a new ASUS UX32a, and put Fedora 17 on it, and to optimize the power settings, I added the following arguments to etc/default/grub:

Grub2 cannot find config file 43 weeks 11 hours ago

I recently upgraded my system from Fedora 14 to 16 by http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Upgrad...dora_using_yum . All went quite smoothly except for one very odd problem. As you know this upgrade switches from grub to grub2. I created /boot/grub2/grub2.cfg with grub2-mkconfig and ran grub2-install without encountering any errors but when I restart I am taken to the grub prompt.

I accidentally deleted every thing from grub2 customizer including command line everything now i cannot boot in fedora 17 please help i can only boot into recovery mode and tried following chroot /mnt/sysimage grub2-install /dev/sda grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg

but still nothing happens

I just did a complete reinstall of my laptop installing fedora 17 and windows 7.

I installed Win7 after fedora 17, so i had to boot the live cd, chroot into my fedora install and reinstall grub.

I want to generate a grub.conf that will search for my /dev/sda1 based on the filesystem label, not the UUID.

I did change /etc/default/grub to so that GRUB_DISABLE_LINUX_UUID="true" and I regenerated grub.cfg.

Problem with GRUB2 FC18 17 weeks 2 days ago

Hi, i have a Windows 8 installed in my notebook with a Fedora 18 now, when i execute grub2-set-default "Windows 8 (loader) (on /dev/sda1)" to change the default boot, now when i run grub2-mkconfig -o /etc/default/grub to write the boot, i recive this error:

Error: could not load module part_msdos: No such file or directory

How can i fix this ?

I thins the problem is the kernel 3.7.2 n
