Not a big issue, but I noticed all of the sudden the "Release" Section in gnome system monitor, has randomly changed from "Release: Fedora 17 (Beefy Miracle)" to "Release 64 bit"

Everything shows as it should be in the etc/os-release file (also shown in screenshot).
Anyone know what might be up with that?
My computer is an old Mac Pro (Not sure why I ever got it, but there you go), and after using Fedora for a few months on my laptop, I decided to switch my desktop over the Fedora too.

I am trying to upgrade from Fedora 16 KDE (details of my system in my sig) to Fedoa 17 using preupgrade.
I ran preupgrade from a rooted shell to see any error messages that might not be shown in GUI, and as I feared, there was one error:

I tried to upgrade F16 to F17 with preupgrade, but now I have the following problem:
When I boot my laptop, I see only "Upgrade to Fedora 17 (Beefy Miracle) in the GRUB 1.99 menu.
When I select this option, I get:
error: file not found
error: you need to load the kernel first
When I edit the grub commands, I see:
