Fedora 16 issues with scanning on a Plustek OpticBook 3600 Plus, lamp brightness.

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – Plugging the Plustek OpticBook 3600 Plus in was no problem as the driver loaded, but I am not sure if this is a driver issue or I am just using the wrong software to scan it. The lamp is too bright when it is scanning things that I can barely see even a trace of print on the page. I have used xsane to try to balance the brightness and the contrast which did not improve the situation any. I have used three or four other programs like Simple Scan, gnomescan, gscan2pdf, and skanlite which have yielded blank results. Is there any way I can turn down the brightness of the scanner? (HowTos)
