Hi,
After googling around, I followed some of the steps I'd seen in this forum to get the usb adapter working.
lsusb
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0846:9020 NetGear, Inc. WNA3100(v1) Wireless-N 300 [Broadcom BCM43231]
I have standard 11.10 that I upgraded, arch is i686
I downloaded ndiswrapper using the Ubuntu Software Center.
Fedora 17 should find a NETGEAR N600 Wireless USB Adapter, WNDA3100, during startup en later. The dongle show no activity. Consequently no connection.
The drivers are in /lib/firmware, ar9170-1 and ar9170-2.
Ok my dell's internal wifi card works fine, but i bought a usb adapter to obtain a stronger signal but i cant seem to get it to work and ditch my internal all togather, it has the proper drivers.
here is a little output if it helps
Bus 002 Device 004: ID 0846:9020 NetGear, Inc. WNA3100(v1) Wireless-N 300 [Broadcom BCM43231]
Hello all, I am in a predicament getting Ubuntu to recognize my USB wireless adapter. When I entered "lsusb" I got the following:
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 0846:9020 NetGear, Inc. WNA3100(v1) Wireless-N 300 [Broadcom BCM43231]
Of course, this was for the one particular hardware.
I'm running F14 on an old Dell Latitude D800. I was previously connecting to the internet via a Linksys AE1000 wireless adapter, but that has started to give us problems.
After searching around, I saw posts which stated that the Netgear WNA1000M is supposed to work plug and play, but that is not the case for me.
I am running a desktop computer with and Asus motherboard and AMD Phenom II x 4 processor. It is a 65 bit machine. I installed Ubuntu 12.10 last week and am still trying to get the wireless usb adapter working. I installed a driver for this device using the Windows Wireless Drivers App (ndisgtk). The driver is bcmwlhigh63 which I got from the Netgear site.
On my desktop PC I have a netgear wireless pci card...
05:05.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications Inc.
Trying to get help installing the driver needed to get wireless with fedora 16. I think Linux rocks but I need wireless. Working with a netgear wnda3100v2 wireless adaptor. Can't seem to find the info. If there is another wireless adaptor that is needed or more simple that could be an option.
Can anybody assist me with installing a Netgear N300 Wireless Adapter? I've read you need the windows driver for it, but how do you get the windows driver? I've got the CD, but it wont run.
