Hello everyone, I just registered here in order to discuss the following:
Background: I'm running a dual-boot system with Windows 8 and Fedora 17. I think my Fedora installation has become corrupted somehow. In my grub menu three different versions of Fedora 17 are shown. Also the software update function has stopped working.
I'll explain my situation and what I've done to try to fix it.
I had gotten a brand new laptop, a Gateway NE56R10u just the other day and of course wanted to to install fedora which I did without any problems. I have my windows partitions on sda1-3, fedora is sda4-8.
I went to update my fedora system to fedora 18 sometime had went wrong.
About 1 month ago I installed the newest version of Fedora, so that I had both Windows and Fedora on one machine. Today it showed me that update are available and I should restart. After installing the updates Fedora tried to boot again, but unfortunately it won't start anymore:
After the loader (fedora logo) I only get a black screen instead of the login.
I have just successfully upgraded from Fedora 19 to Fedora 20.
However, when I run 'yum update', I would receive this error message 'Cannot find a valid baseurl for repo: rpmfusion-free-source/20/x86_64'.
