hi guys,,,
i have a question here,
We're just starting to experiment with Fedora 18, and we want to see if it will work on our servers. These do support graphical installs, but we configure them so that they boot into text mode when the OS installation is finished. What is the recommended method of specifying, during the Fedora 18 installation, that the computer should boot into text mode when the install is finished?
I'd like to install a base Fedora system meaning without all the other programs/applications that come when installing a Gnome/KDE/XFCE spins.
I did a clean install of Fedora 18 from a DVD. When I rebooted after the installation was finished, everything was fine up until it was time for the OS to start loading. When it got to that point, the monitor just went black. No messages, no nothing. Just black. Thinking maybe it might take awhile for something to come up, I left the computer alone for a few hours and still nothing.
Hello guys, today I got a sad problem: When I run fedora (liveCD), it works properly but then I install it (the installation process seems to be ok) and by the moment I choose fedora in grub, what I got is just a white-blinking screen that never ends.
So I tried to install many others DEs and distros: Fedora(KDE), Fedora(LXDE), Mint(Cinnamon), Kubuntu, Lubuntu, Mageia, OpenSuse and the same pro
I have Vista on the first disk drive. I use the second drive for Fedora. The automated update destroyed my Fedora 10 installation while trying to update to Fedora 12 - possibly because of GRUB issues. Now I am trying to install Fedcora 12 from the x86_64 ISO.
I just tried installing fedora 17 from CD and I noticed that there is no longer any option to choose/edit your packages during the install (which was a really good/important feature). This option was available in the fedora 16 installation CD.
Has this feature been removed? Is it only available using other installation mediums now (if so, which one)? What happened to it?
Hi.
Sorry for my english...
I'm new in using Fedora.
I'm trying to install Fedora-17-i386-DVD.iso on my computer.
I don't have an optical drive so I'm trying to use a USB 500 GB HDD.
The drive is partitioned like this: 20 GB Fat32 primary + a NTFS logical. I'm using it with a grub4dos menu.
In that menu I have some very useful tools which I can't erase.
Hi All,
I am trying to install Linux Fedora 12 in duo boot with Windows XP.
I burned ISO image to DVD and install Fedora 12 from DVD.
During installation, I select country, language then Fedora displays a list of drivers (looks like network driver).
I hit F12 and select install from DVD drive but Fedora says Fedora not on the DVD.
