Fedora 12 on PS3, it just install a minimal system

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – Hi everyone. Yesterday I tried to install Fedora 12 on my PS3 with the Fedora12 PPC dvd. The problem is that the installation process never asked me which package I want install. It just installed the minimal system. After the installation, I just can use my Fedora with command line. I configured my eth0 interface and install Gnome with yum groupinstall "GNOME Desktop Environment". But I need to configure a lot of things if I want my system to boot automatically on GDM. I want to know if anyone know why we cannot choose which package we want to install during the installation. The installation never ask me to configure a user too. Thank for your help. (HowTos)

I've had Fedora 15 up and running on my system for a whlie using the Nvidia drivers from RPMFusion.

Now I have wiped the system and re-installed with the updated Fedora 17, totally clean install.

I have just installed Fedora 17 from the text mode installation. After the text mode installation, I issued the following command

yum groupinstall "X Window System" Desktop

But I get garbage on the screen when I am starting the GNOME GUI environment.

I've been using Fedora off and on for a while now, but I've never tried a minimal installation before. I used the DVD, selected minimal, created a user, installed Xorg and Xfce and lightdm but lightdm doesn't start at boot. How can I get it to? I've done minimal installs a bunch of times on Arch Linux, but unlike Arch there isn't a whole lot of documentation or guides for Fedora.

Hi everyone,I am a new user on this forum.I am a windows XP user and trying to install linux Fedora Core 5 in another partition of 20GB.

For some reason I am unable to change the installation location for the boot loader when installing Fedora 12 in the graphical installation mode. The 'Change device' button does nothing when I click on it during installation. I'd like to install the boot loader on my /boot partition. Is there some kind of bug that is preventing me from doing this?

I am a newbie to Linux.I have installed Fedora 10-i386(dual boot-Windows XP also present) on my machine.

I tried writing a small "hello world" program in c language.when compiling the code using the command "gcc hello.c" ,i get the follwing message:

"bash:gcc:command not found".
