Fedora 11 x86_64 & Firefox

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – The purpose of this post is to try and help any one else that might be running into the same problem that I had with the 64bit version Fedora 11. The problem in a nut shell is that every time you use Firefox and open multiple tabs the system becomes unresponsive. If you SSH into your system you will see Xorg eating up close 100% of available CPU. I was about to give up on Fedora 11 and switch to Ubuntu 9.04 when I stumbled across a work around for the problem and figured I would share. As kind of a last ditch effort I figured I would check compiz and make sure it was turned off. To my dismay I found that it was indeed turned off when I checked. I figured the system could not get any worse than it was so I turned it on and to my surprise the system has not become unresponsive once with compiz running. I have even had upwards of 30 different tabs open and running in Firefox and no problems. Like I said this is not a fix for the problem, but if you find yourself in the same boat I was in try turning compiz on. Thanks, Whit3fir3 (HowTos)
