Fedora 11 Samba configuration

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – I've looked everywhere and can't seem to find the answers to my questions. All the samba tutorials have been far to advanced for what I'm looking for. Here is what I want: 1) Have one folder on my Fedora11 box shared 2) Be able to drag and drop files to/from my WinXP laptop on my home network by doing start -> run then typing \\192.168.x.x I don't have any workgroups set up on my home network, I don't want extra users. I've tried using the Samba GUI config tool that comes with Fedora 11 with no help. I followed this guide: http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=94257 until it started wanting me to add users. I just want to be able to watch movies (that are saved on my F11 desktop) from my WinXP laptop up in my bedroom while falling asleep. Any help is appreciated in advance. Thanks (HowTos)

Cannot connect via Hostname 3 years 29 weeks ago

At school can connect to my computer via SMB/Samba and VNC from the Windows Machines, but not by hostname (I still cannot VNC in at home on my desktop computer and have yet to try Samba there because I wanna setup Samba there from the comfort of my laptop and therefore need VNC first).

Anyway, could someone tell me how should i conf (and install addons, if needed)

1) Samba server (probably going to do yum install first) and there should be: share named like "share1"

Hi,

Today I bought a new Samsung Series 9,NP900X3C-A01SE laptop/ultrabook to run Fedora on, i knew there where some problems with some f-keys and suspends but as it is now I even can't install it :-(

There is no opictical drive so I have a USB memstick which I have used to try install it with.
