I have a home ethernet network with both Windows and Ubuntu computers and an Ubuntu laptop which uses a wireless connection. This network has remained fundamentally unchanged for a couple of years and has always worked perfectly. Now, however, both my Ubuntu machines give an error when trying to access the network:

How to limit bandwidth speed from a router for a devices on a network ?

Hi,
The problem I am going to discuss is not related to the ubuntu or any other OS, Its just a wireless network related issue I want to resolve. I hope some one will definitely help me.
In our office network we have LAN network with proxy server and all computers are under a domain controller. Maximum computers are on wired connection.
With my home network, I am using wireless router that is connected to the internet, my headless server, and three other computers wirelessly. My goal is to add a second source of internet to the network by adding a wireless adapter to the server. In this network, the regular computers can not be used since they can't always be on/stable/in range.
Well, what I am conserned with things like scp and ssh (I tried scp too) is encryption.I just moved one file over to a server with scp, and I got about 2.1MB/s... which is about 16.8 Mbps..I am using Linksys E900, which is wireless-N router. Connection exist between two computers only, nothing else is using that router.
Hi, I'm a little new to linux and networking. I have a small server that I want to use as storage for my home network. I have a wireless router acting as a bridge that is getting wireless signal from our main router in the home and turns the signal into wired for my network. I have a 8 port switch hooked to the router which all my computers are connected to.
I've just installed ubuntu on a laptop that came with Windows 7 pre-installed.
I have my desktop pc with a wired/ LAN connection to a Belkin wireless router.
We also have a couple of laptops in the house which connect to the same router, but wirelessly.
Is there anyway I can create a network for file transfer and desktop sharing between these computers
whilst the desktop pc is connected via LAN cable? All machines are running Ubuntu 12.04.
