http://www.linuxquestions.org – I have Compaq presario laptop with Broadcom Corporation BCM4311 802.11b/g wireless adapter. I am using fedora core 10. I am able to connect to wireless routers and browse internet. These types of connections are shown as in infrastructure mode. The problem arises when I connect to an ad hoc wireless network. I am trying to connect with my phone using ad hoc network to access internet. I can connect and browse for some time but after that the system hangs. I can browse normally if I connect to a wireless router. (HowTos)

I have a new Dell Precision M6400 core I7 laptop. i am not able to connect to wireless network.

i tried all options in the config guide but still was not successful. In the additional Drivers window i see that it is using Broadcom STA wireless driver.

I'm currently dual booting Fedora and Win XP and my computer is right on the edge of my wireless network. I'm typing this from XP because while Fedora can see the wireless and can connect to it the speeds are so low that I can barely get to Google, let alone browse the internet or god forbid download a file. XP on the other hand can browse just fine.

Hi, I just moved to Fedora 11 but can't figure out how to get my wireless working. I have the broadcom driver installed and the Network Manager Applet shows the available wireless networks, but when I click on them they just don't connect. Any ideas??

I'm new to Linux. Been using Ubuntu and Mint primarily for last couple of months. Since Fedora is right behind Ubuntu at Distro-watch in popularity I was curious and downloaded the new Live CD.

In my Fedora 16 installation I've recently noticed that it tries to connect to wireless at boot (I have kernel messages turned on at boot so I can see it trying).
