On my Mac OS X, I am trying to provide input to fdisk command via echo and Pipe Operator, And in this process i wants to provide bootable flag to partition number 1 of attached USB Drive and then i wants to quit with save, To achieve this I wrote following on Terminal:
I'm currently trying to install Gentoo in VirtualBox OSE. I'm only doing it in a virtual machine so I can test it before I go to installing it on the hard drive.
I'm following the wiki article and done everything it says.
Some months ago I started to load Slackware 13.37 on a new computer with a 40 GB SSD. I went back to finish the job today and could not get fdisk to find sda. The command df found the drive in /dev/devtmpfs, however I haven't been able to get fdisk to connect to the SSD which apparently is not mounted.
i want to automate fdisk command .
i spawned a process containing fdisk command from a process
and tried to send the options to fdisk promt from that process.
but that spawed process is notstarting itself
help me out
trying for two days
echo starting in send
cat <<EOF > /root/test_ntp/send1
spawn sh spawn_process
I just got a brand new acer laptop today and it came with Linpus Linus installed. I want to have windows on it and I read on Microsoft's site that in order to install windows, you're first supposed to delete your linux partitions with fdisk.. so I ran fdisk and found out that all of my harddisk's 1TB was on dev/sda..
