Hi there,After quite some time trying to get the perfect Conky config, I got it, and then I got tired of it and saw it was eating a lot of ram, so I tried a lot of software and finally discovered Fbpanel.Hi Res image: http://slug45.jarfil.net/img/fbpanel.jpgAs you can see in the image, you can add a lot of stuff to the panel (it has fake-transparency too).

I didn't use any panels for a long time, just openbox with a little tiny conky at the bottom of the screen. (example here). Then, just recently I figured out that running fbpanel, I could have the same info displayed I was showing in conky, plus a pager, quick icon launcher thingies, and the menu, of course, and fbpanel was actually using fewer system resources than conky. So, on my #!

hi, i read your post quickly and i'm tired so I see your rc.lua not in details but I find this different in my rc.lua:your config: require("vicious")my config: local vicious = require("vicious")I don't remember where I read about this change (probably in wiki of awesome or here, I don't know now) , but is necesary..
This might be related to the problems described at http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.la … devel/9205 . I use a default config file and get the same error message.Edit: The bug tracker (https://bugs.archlinux.org/index.php?do … k_id=31864) offers a solution: Remove the jobs: line from the config file.
