I need to retrieve the event logs from an XP embedded machine which doesn't have the Event Viewer, to an XP pro machine with the Event Viewer and then view the logs.
Whenever I move an event log it seems to become corrupted and I get the message "Unable to complete the operation on SysEvent.evt.
Hi all,
I am developing a log parsing agent in perl to send windows Event logs to Zenoss Monitoring tool. Using Win32::EventLog i can able to get the Event messages but only one Eventype eg Application or System could able to parse at a time. Can you please help to how to open mutiple eventlogs at a time I need to get the total number of events combining all these event types.
I went ahead and successfully configured event fowarding and subscriptions (winrm/wecutil). Now is it possible to have all logs that have already happened to be fowarded to my collector? Or is it only events going forward that will be logged?
I get this error (event 36887 schannel The following fatal alert was received: 10.) on my Exchange Server 2010, running on Windows Server 2008 x64 Enterprise.

Is there any way to detect(EventLogs/other tools) if someone is trying to BruteForce into a remote system using this method?
I'm trying to set up alerts for low disk space conditions on a server (Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise, SP1). To do this I want to trigger an email via Task Scheduler whenever Event ID 2013 is logged in the System event log.
The problem is that Event ID 2013 doesn't seem to be occurring.
I have a very strange system behavior in a few places which can be described in short: There is a process either in user or kernel space which waits for event.
