Hi all,
I went from 11.1 GNOME to 11.2 KDE, and I noticed now that if I load an audio CD and open it in Dolphin, Dolphin does "stuff" with the contents: I see directories for Ogg files, for example.
Now, this looks like a cool feature, but how do I control the ripping process (bit rate, file names, etc.)? I can't find any settings in Dolphin that deals with this?
OS 11.2x86_64, KDE 4.3.1 desktop.
The Dolphin file manager crashes on me randomly. It does not seem to be connected to any particular operation, but just "goes away" with no warning & nothing in the system logs. Starting Dolphin in a terminal window gives nothing upon crashing, just the prompt comes back (so far, anyway.)
Hi everyone. I've got an ipod which I haven't used with my opensuse computer for a while, but recently tried to get it connected again. When I plug in the ipod, two devices show in Dolphin's "places" or in the KDE device notifier (in the plasma panel). One has the "name" I typed in when I set up the ipod with itunes, the other is labeled "iPod".
Ok, I'm going more than a little nuts here...
Here's what's happening. I have one PC (morpheus) on which I've chosen to share a couple of folders in the home directory. The folders show the "Shared" icon in them and are chmod 777'd. I can access them by going to Dolphin -> Network -> Samba Shares -> Workgroup -> Morpheus -> Foldername ...
Because if you have a big root partition (which you kinda do, since it's over 10 GB, 15 GB tops), the HDD's read head could travel too much back and forth between the system's files. Having your root partition at the end of the drive can also impact performance, since the platters spin slower toward the centre. It's basic mechanics.
Greetings
I'm having this problem while trying to watch a video (500MB) over a samba share, "mounted" via dolphin.
Both players just show a black screen.
It seems there are a number of bugs in KDE (4.4) related to this, already reported.
Hi,since some updates Dolphin has the new menu point "Recently Accessed" with the four items "Today", "Yesterday", "This Month" and "Last Month".The idea sounds good but when I click on the items all I get is an empty window.
Thanks guelfi for mentioning the daemon thing. That got me thinking that maybe I could use dbus to launch dolphin for me.
