On a new Asus X54C WIN7 laptop I am trying to install 12.10 desktop 64 bit. In the documentation ( http://www.ubuntu.com/download/help/...desktop-latest ) step 4 'Allocate drive space' (installation type box) the first option is 'Install Ubuntu alongside Windows 7'.
Ok, I´m new to Ubuntu, and have been trying it out using WUBI, but now I´ve decided to install it on a dual boot configuration alongside my already existing Windows 7 installation.
So here´s my problem: I have 3 HDD's, Windows 7 being installed on sda, with sdb and sdc only for storage. So I go to the installation process, and click the first option there " Install Ubuntu alongside Windows 7".
I recently installed a second hard drive on a Windows XP computer. I installed Ubuntu 12.04 from DVD-ROM onto the second drive, using the installer to partition. When I start the computer, I do not get the option to choose the operating system, and Windows shows the drive (F:) as not having any Linux files. What is my next step?
I am using win2008 r2 server in my past.
I have installed ubuntu in my pen-drive whenever I want to get it on my d:drive which have 300GB space.
I have win 2008 r2 alongside linux how I can make a move to d drive from pendrive.
I have download it from site as AMD64 ISO and extract it in pen-drive. run the setup and choose 3rd option (not reboot). it's run and restart my computer.
i have tried several times to install ubuntu using wubi, i can't use a disc as i have a notebook computer and there is no optical drive.
the download and installation all seem to work well but whenever i try to boot ubuntu at the windows 7/ubuntu menu it comes up with this error screen.
I have used both the C: drive and the D: drive to install Ubuntu several times each, it's always unsuccessful.
When I install Ubunut 12.04 I'll be presented with three options - install ubuntu alongside windows, replace windows with ubuntu and 'something else'. If I choose 'replace windows' then I can not be able to make a swap space. So what then. I've 1GB ram. And if I choose 'replace windows' will my only C drive get replaced or what'll happen?
I am installing Ubuntu alongside Windows ,
It detects my Windows installation fine and I clicked install alongside Windows but now there is no "Allocate drive space by dragging the slider below" screen though the tutorial I am following says there should be one !
I'm installing Ubuntu 12.04 using a LiveCD
I want to install Ubuntu alongside my Windows 7. I defragmented my C: drive and shrink it.
I then started the Ubuntu installation which I burned on CD. I followed the installation guide from the official site. I did step 3 and choose my wireless. According to the guide I supposed to arrive step 4 and install Ubuntu alongside Windows 7. But instead I arrived this place:
What did I made wrong?
