The title says it all. I can't post directly on the development forums. I fixed the market not working problem but i realized that facebook push notifications got disabled. I get a notification saying so. The reason: my phone's not capable of push notifications. That's impossible.
So is there a workaround? A patch a very native facebook like app?
I am planning to implement Android push notification serivce for an app that might require receiveing even two messages per device per second. I would like to know if GCM Push messaging is the way to go or should I stick to SyncAdapter or some other technology? Single device will receive up to few thousand notifications per day. Message size will be very small to 4kb limit is fine.
Is there a such thing like settings for push notifications.. Because my phone wont receive any APP push notifications.. It is kind of annoying if u cant get the notification when someone has talked to you on FB messenger or someone added you as a friend on facebook..
I am using Google Cloud Messaging in my application. I am facing this issue. some times i am getting push notifications earlier and sometimes i am not getting even single message also.on that time i am switching the wireless or mobile internet data on and off than the notification are coming..
I am trying to follow a tutorial on using GCM to push notifications for my application. I have the server up and running, and the android app running. From the server, I can push a notification message, but the notification only pops up when the activity is actually running. How can I register, in my manifest I assume, to answer notifications when the app isn't up and running.
