I have inadvertantly changed the behavior of my desktop and it's driving me crazy.
When I'm at work, I use KDE activities and map them to my projects. I always use the same applications on every project, so I'd like to keep my windows visible when I change the activity. For the moment, what I do is go through every window, right click on the title bar, and check the checkbox that makes the window appear on all activities.
There's a scenario in my app which it could go activity a->activity b->activity a->activity b...infinitely, and eventually it'll get OOM.
Is anybody aware of a way to make it like the "dont keep activities" behaviour,e.g. the activities will be killed to release memeory but still in history, so it can be recreated as user navigates back?
Hi,
I recenty installed Ubuntu, and i like the operating system. I use it a lot, and tweaked some things i didnt like. But i don`t like one thing about the window behaviour.
The window buttons (close window-Minimize)+ menu bar(with File-Edit etc.) hide when a window is in full screen. The title of the document/web page shows up instead.
Greetings,
I am an avid fan of Linux that has decided to make the transition from Windows to Linux as a learning experience, and to become more fluent in this environment. I have dabbled in a few distros, but have decided to make Fedora the desktop OS of choice.
Hey every one, I'm fairly new to Linux, Gnome and it all but Im starting to get the hang of it all but to my question...
I know when you click or move your mouse to the top left corner of the "Activities" button you get the full screen nice application start thingy.. I like it and all but recently I came across "Axe Menu".
I recently installed fedora 17 on my machine.
On top menu, I wanted to add firefox short cut on top menu bar. So what I did, I dragged the Firefox menu from Application > internet > Firefox on Top menu bar beside Application and Places two default menu. but dont know what had happen, It suddenly removed both top and bottom menu bar and but firefox shortcut get added on top.
Hello, I have been happily using Opensuse 11.2 (except for the lack of support for Chinese language input, but will save that for another day) but all of a sudden during the last few days something very strange has happened to my taskbar. Now when I minimize a window (Firefox, Ocular, etc) the window disappears. Minimized windows no longer pin to the taskbar!
Hello everyone.
I am new to Fedora and have little experience with linux overall, having tried Mint, Ubuntu, openSUSE and a few others. I personally like the gnome-shell and have had no problems so far in other distros.
