My laptop is an Asus Zenbook Prime ux31a.
I have a very weird issue with click and drag on my touchpad. I can click and drag, but after I move the mouse just a few centimetres, it releases. Any ideas?
This is quite annoying. For some reason I can not hold anything with my mouse.
For example.
I can not drag a window by holding its title bar.
I can not move the scroll bar of any window by mouse.
I can not even select text
Alt+Click on a window does not move it.
All these tasks are related to dragging. And this dragging is not working.
My mother has a problem with her ThinkPad L520 notebook (Ubuntu 11.10, Unity).
She boots the device, everything works fine at first. But then, out of nowhere, her touchpad + trackpoint stop working. She can't click or drag the mouse.
Introduction
If you ever happen to open a window, and it is oversized so, the Title bar of the window itself is not reachable, you will not be able to pick it with the mouse and move it, so one way that works on KDE, GNOME, Fluxbox and others is:
Moving a window with the help of the keyboard
First you need to press the ALT key, then click the left button of the mouse while you have the mouse over
I recently installed Fedora 13 on my hp 6730b laptop alongside Windows 7 on an extended partition. Everything's working fine but I can't click using the synaptic touchpad. The cursor is moving around fine using the touchpad but to click I need to use the left button.
Yeah, this doesn't work for me. I'm 100% I did everything correct. I went over everything a lot of times. It doesn't work. The scrip works. If I click it. So clearly, lsusb works, the script works, the touchpad gets disabled if I have my mouse in and it doesn't if I don't.The problem is that it's not automatic.
Jittery/shakey... I don't know exactly what word to use. English isn't my first language.
But when I keep my finger still on the touchpad, the mouse pointer seems to keep moving rapidly within a tiny square area.
Just bought an Acer AO756 laptop and I am dual booting Ubuntu 12.04 and Win 7. The only problem that I am having with the laptop is right click. There aren't any right and left click buttons, you click by pressing the touchpad on the right or left corner and the entire touchpad moves.
I can tap to left click and two finger tap to right click but that doesn't work very well.
Following installation of Ubuntu 12.04 over a previous install of 10.04, I have found odd behaviour in the Fluxbox windows manager. If I 'tab' two windows together (as one can in Fluxbox) I cannot change focus from one tabbed window to another using the mouse. To focus on the other window I have to use the alt-tab method with the keyboard.
