F-Prot AV vs Bitdefender AV on Windows 7 Home Premium

http://superuser.com – I've been using F-Prot Anti-virus for around a decade now and it's been pretty good, give or take. I've been getting the feeling their product is perhaps lagging in the market nowadays, which concerns me only with respect to it being bang up-to-date. After looking around a bit, Bitdefender appears to be a popular option but my main priority is a non-intrusive AV that does not hog system resources outside of its primary function. I'm not interested in lots of peripheral extras; I tend to be a relatively cautious user, so it's pretty much just web browsing and perhaps some IM and VOIP tools. (HowTos)
