I have a USB headset with microphone (Logitech, model number appears to be A-00009) that I can't seem to get Ubuntu (Natty, 32-bit) to recognize. The hardware is an Asus K52F laptop.
I installed a fresh 12.04_64bit on Dell Studio 1557. When I plug my Toshiba 750GB external drive, nothing happens.
I am trying to get a new external USB drive working on a system. The drive works under windows, and other drives work on this linux box, so I suspect there may be a compatibility issue with that particular drive.
The problem existed under 11.1, I just did a fresh install of 11.2 but get the same issue.
i use an external hard drive to keep my movies on to watch on my xbox. i went to add a movie and it says error desination is read only. i am the owner and it says it is a read only filesystem. when i ran smart data and the only red flag is reallocated sector count. i plugged it into my windows machine and ran chkdsk it said it fixed it. i guess it didnt. i had no problems with it yesterday.

yesterday when i try to sync my ipod classic with banshee, my machine hangs!
Since I installed Xubuntu 12.04 on my Acer Aspire One netbook (Model AOD250), not only has the webcam stopped working, but the machine also refuses to suspend on occasion, due to the webcam problem.
Note, the webcam and suspend both worked properly on Ubuntu 11.10
Here is a dmesg excerpt from a failed suspend:
