Folks,
I have built a minimal Ubuntu system running Openbox. I have also installed fuse-exfat and usbmount.
When I insert a FAT32 USB disk, usbmount automatically mounts it. However, when I insert an exFAT formatted USB disk, usbmount does not do anything.
I am also running PCManFM (a great app).
USB Host Diagnostics reports that it can detect my USB device.
My rooted Nexus 7 has Stickmount and I would like to read and write to the exfat filesystem.
Does the stock kernel support exfat, I am wondering if this is the problem that I can't see any files on the USB Key.
If so, has anyone compiled the exfat.ko or have some workaround ?
I am fairly sure that the USB-OTG cable is fine,
So i know most of u are going to buy the GS4 coz of expendable memory, me included, n exfat seems important to me i dont want my sd card crashing after a month taking all my files with it . Is is going to support exfat?
Hello! I am having an issue. I purchased a Sandisk 64gb micro SD for my S3. Here is the issue. I have done this formatted as both exFat and Fat32...I transfer music via iSyncr. I put the card in my computer. Transfer 25gbs of music. It works correctly, shows correctly. When I insert the card into my S3, it checks for errors. Go to storage and when formatted in exfat shows only 4gbs transferred.
When trying to mount my 64GB microSD card, it fails. Did a bit of research and found I needed exfat.
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:relan/exfat
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install fuse-exfat
I can now mount the filesystem manually & everything works fine.
What am I now supposed to do to enable the automount?
Any insights or guidance as to what I can do would be much appreciated.
Hi,
I have a new 64gb micro SD card that uses exFAT with my gopro Hero3 camera.
I am trying to install exFAT on my fc18 system. I can find the files but they refuse to install citing no security key. How can i install the files anyway. It went off without a hitch on fc17.
Thanks for your help!
Hello everyone.
A few days ago a friend gave me a USB drive, which was formatted to exFAT.
I installed the fuse-exfat package, and the drive mounted without issue; and I copied about 1/2 the data from the drive.
I have a real linux installation being virtualized under a Windows 8 host, by using the VBoxManage.exe internalcommands createrawvmdk method.
I'm trying to mount an exFAT partition into the virtualized machine (which is the partition of shared work files), but even though I have fuse-exfat installed, and the partition is perfectly mountable while booting entirely into Ubuntu, I can't mount it whi
