I am on Ubuntu 12.10 and i was wondering it there is a tool or an "Box" to run an executable inside it. And by doing so check if the executable is malicious...
maybe a virtual machine where i can see everything that the executable is doing!
Or the tools that the specialists who works for antivirus companies and task forces uses!!!
I wouldn't mind something with a graphical interface

My first post. I'm pretty much a complete noob with Linux. I'm trying to compile and program which I've found.
I just downloaded a program that is an executable file. Now my brother told me there is a way to code things to make executable files work. Can any one give me the coding for executables. Thanks

This is something that has bugged me for some time, I am hoping someone can pick up on it and...in before someone tells me to do it myself I don't have the time.
When you try to run an application that you downloaded that hasn't been marked as executable the dialog box is not helpful at all, i see this type of post on my website all the time:
