Phoronix: Wasteland 2 Planned For Release In August
Going back to the Kickstarter campaign in 2012 where Linux support was talked about early on, we have been excited to see Wasteland 2 available for Linux gamers. In August is when the game has been announced for its official release...
Wasteland 2, an RPG made by inXile Entertainment and developer Brian Fargo, will be released by the end of August. The first Wasteland game was launched back in 1988 and you could imagine that there aren't many people left that are still interested in a sequel, but you would be wrong.
For all you Wasteland fans out there, Wasteland 2 is finally getting a Linux release, thanks to the engine it is being developed on, getting native Linux support. Wasteland 2 is an RPG being developed by inXile Entertainment and developer Brian Fargo.
For the uninitiated, the original game came out way back in 1988.
As some of you might know Wasteland 2 is currently being funded on Kickstarter with the initial goal of $900,000. To this moment $1,157,646 already been raised and it’s still 31 days to go. Max Zettlmeißl and other GNU/Linux users have requested on Wastlands2 forums a native support for our beloved OS bringing valid arguments [...]
