How can I remove the Administrator Mailbox from Exchange 2010?
I don't want to delete the whole user account because I need Administrator to access the Server, but Administrator shouldn't have any mail addresses assigned.
Background:
We use Eset Mail Security which is getting licenced per mailbox count.
I am going to start a migration from and Exchange 2003 cluster to a new Exchange 2010 SP2 with 14 mailbox databases of a supposed maximum size of about 400 GB each. Each database will be divided into 2 LUNS, data and transaction logs. LUN size takes into account to leave about 20% of free space to avoid monitoring alerts.
I want to be able to send all emails from an existing Exchange mailbox to a public folder. I am using Exchange 2003 and haven't found a clear way to do this. Anyone have any insight? I would appreciate it.
Thanks!
I am starting to migrate about 1000 user mailboxes from an Exchange 2003 cluster to a new Exchange 2010 SP2 and I'm trying to figure out how to set mailbox size limits based on user roles. My idea is to divide users into 3 roles by Active Directory groups, High usage (1 GB limit), Medium (512 MB limit) and Low (256 MB limit).
I'd like to run a mailbox report on Exchange 2010 which lists:
Users
Email addresses
Size of mailbox
Number of messages
Searching the web didn't seem to yield anything useful, even though it would seem this would be a simple thing to do. I'd like to dump it into an Excel spreadsheet, so CSV would be fine.
I have been assigned a task to cleanup our Exchange server by exporting the mailboxes of users who have left the company. We want to keep a copy of the mailbox for 90 days, just in case HR or management needs it later. I have over 130+ mailboxes to export to complete this task.
I see that the only way to export a mailbox to a PST is to use Export-Mailbox cmdlet via the Exchange Management Tools.
I am doing a migration of mailboxes from one Exchange 2007 server to another server(new hardware, different server name, both on the same domain).
What steps do I need to take to ensure that no users access the mailbox stores during the migration process?
Disable port 25?
Disable OWA?
I will be using the move-mailbox exchange console functionality.
My Microsoft Exchange 2010 installation server suffers from disk space absence sometimes. To work around this problem I usually just go ahead and remove log files on my mailbox folder.
I have to do it every 3 months. Is it possible to set up a recurring task in Windows Server, so that it would check the size of the mailbox folder, and if it exceeds, for example 4 GB, remove all the log files?
I have been trying to find a solution for this problem everywhere. I am trying to sync my iphone to my work email, I can perform the setup on the iphone and it works fine but when I try to connect it says connection to server has failed. I've read something about the mailbox not creating the Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync folder so it won't sync.
