I am having trouble setting the correct resolution on my external monitor via HDMI
I have the gen3 Sandy Bridge processor with an Nvidia card. After I installed the Nvidia driver I got 640x800 resolution on my laptop monitor, but was able to set 1080p on my external monitor.
Okay guys I have a question here about testing;
I have an nvidia optimus laptop and only the newer nvidia beta drivers work with The Bumblebee Project for my chip (its a new chip).
So i needed to add the xorg edgers PPA to for when i installed TBP for it to grab the newer drivers, it also upgraded a load of xorg stuff like intel drivers and all that.
After this was installed I removed the xorg
I have a msi A6000 laptop with a nvidia GeForce 8200m. I have installed the recommended proprietary driver for the graphics card.
The problem occurs when I try to use my Gateway FPD1810 monitor that I have connected to my laptop. I go into the X server, enable the monitor, click "Save to X configuration file", and get this message:
Hi all,
I have opensuse 11.3 (64 bit) with nvidia 8400GS (256 MB ram).
The system is a core 2 T7500 with 4GB Ram.
I have installed nvidia drives (through nvidia's .run file, versison 256.35)

Hello, I have a Lenovo B560 laptop with Nvidia Geforce 310m graphic card and am using Xubuntu 11.10.
I just managed to instal drivers from Nvidia website (290.10), but when I restart, Xubuntu splash appears but then it goes black console with some lines like stop blabla (ok), start blabla (ok) and then it does nothing.
Hi
I've installed Fedora 17 and installed the necessary libraries and drivers for my nVidia card:
Code:
$lspci | grep VGA
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation G96 [GeForce 9500 GT] (rev a1)
I have two monitors:
Code:
Dell 2208WFP (1680x1050), DVI
ViewSonic VG930m-3 (1280x1024), DVI
I want for each display its own Xscreen (i.e., Twindisplay feature is off).
He there I posted earlier about a resolution issue on my laptop, while I'm tinkering with that, I've tossed 11.2 on a desktop I've got laying around.
I've got a different issue with this one, so I figured I'd start i new thread.
