http://forums.fedoraforum.org – Greetings... I'm getting the dreaded "Summary and folder mismatch, even after a sync" with Evolution. I realize that this error has been beaten to death. I have searched exhaustively for an answer. That is I searched until I was exhausted. Running F17 with Evolution 3.4.3. This is a fresh install. The problem only happens with local email and not mail from my ISP. I restored evolution's data from backup since I was using it on F15 before. I want to receive root's email to my account. So this is my configuration. I created an alias in /etc/aliases to direct root's (HowTos)

Im running evolution 3.2.2. on Ubuntu 11.10.

I looked in my sent items folder, which is a local folder I have created to take sent mail from evolutions sent mail folder, when i noticed a whole lot were missing.

I have two questions.

My Evolution email client keeps forgetting all settings after a reboot or even a logout/login! Please help!

I have recently installed Ubuntu 12.04 on a new laptop. To move my Evolution settings and email over to the new machine, I selected "backup", which creates a single tar.gz archive of all Evolution settings and mail.

I've now had a repeated experience of my emails disappearing - not deleted, just disappearing - since I converted from POP to IMAP. How do I stop this perverse behaviour?

On (bad) advice I converted my Evolution email client account from POP to IMAP. ALL email, in every folder, in client and host server just disappeared. I had no opportunity to even take a back-up in Evolution.

I love Ubuntu and Evolution so I installed Evolution on Ubuntu 12.04 when I upgraded recently.

I restored my mail from a backup and on starting Evolution for the first time, received a message about converting my emails and once successful, deleting the mbox versions via Edit -> Preferences -> Mail accounts.

This sync -bug may be related to this lag -bug here. Basically Inbox shows +1 email but cannot find it, I have deselected I think all options such as search not to filter out emails. You can see my progress with the questions below.

I can see that there are 2 relevant directories which are used by Evolution 3.4.3 to store mails:

~/.local/share/evolution/mail/local_mbox/ ~/.cache/evolution/mail/.../folders/INBOX/

My Inbox vfolder has 7500 mails, has claimed in Evolution. And the Trash is supposed to be emptied at the exit.

Evolution on F17 is crashing here with a POP Gmail account.

I moved my Gmail account IMAP to POP a few weeks ago. Everything is archived at Gmail, so the way I use mail the POP vs IMAP differences are minimized. I have several accounts; all are forwarded to Gmail. POP keeps things simple.

I just set up Evolution via "Online Accounts" in Systems Setting.
