Newb here. Help is greatly appreciated. I have searched google and forums for a couple days and found no solution.
Ettercap's ssl mitm attack will not give me login info.
chk_poison says No poisoning between 192.168.1.102 -> 192.168.1.1
arp -a on the victim machine says it is poisoned. All ips have attacker's mac.
I set the privs to 0 and uncommented the ip table lines in the conf file.
I currently have BT5 RC1 installed on my tower and I just updated to the newest stable version (0.7.4) because I was experiencing a common thread resource issue with the build packaged with BT 5 RC1. As of right now i have configured/compiled it with libnet and GTK2+ dependencies in order to install it (which is was installed in /usr/local/).
Hi everyone,
I'm having troubles using ettercap to do an MITM in my own network.
I deployed a switch, connecting my victim pc, my atatcker pc, and the router(default gateway)
When I start ettercap using comand:
Code:
ettercap -G
sometimes, when I scaning the hosts I get this error:
Code:
(<unknown>:6026): Gtk-WARNING **: Invalid text buffer iterator: either the iterator is unini
I using ettercap NG 0.7.3 and I cant sniff emails password. but i can sniff forums password. my setting are :
1- sniff > unified sniffing eth0
2- host > scan for host
3- mitm > arp poisoning > sniff remote conection
4- start > start sniffing
i doing something wrong? or ettercap cannot sniff those sites?
Hey all,

Hello,
Very new to ARP Poisoning and using Ettercap to get started. heard very good things about it.
Operating in the GUI i got ARP poisoning functioning on my network however it will not return all posted data on the targeted IP.
Facebook as well as a few other sites always return the login details in Ettercap however on select sites such as Gmail i dont return any
result whatsoever.
I have a bare-bones installation of ettercap installed on my computer. I LOVE hacking and finding ways to maneuver a system. Every time I try arp-poisoning, all the other computers on my network lose connection to the Internet. What's happening and is there a way around it?
I recently installed BackTrack 5 R1 on my late 2011 13" Macbook Pro 8,1 and everything installed fine after some helpful Google searches.
One of the main issues I am having is that the Wireless card on my Macbook isn't being recognized. When I use Wicd Network Manager it doesn't see any wireless networks (No Wireless Networks Found).
Here are the commands I use:
arpspoof -i wlan0 -t 192.168.1.66 192.168.1.254
sslstrip -a
ettercap -T -q -i eth0
But nothing else gets printed such as the packets or requests. I'm not sure what to do... I have a compatible wireless card.
