http://askubuntu.com – I have a Gateway notebook and installed Vista on it (successfully), but cannot get my new Ubuntu 10.4 installation to connect with the internet wirelessly. I can get a list of routers (on the triangular button) and it tries its hardest to connect, but without result. The "Additional Drivers" installed with the Ubuntu 10.4 system -- located in "Applications" -- is corrupted so is of no help. I tried, in vain to search for a Linux driver on the internet, but could find none. Please, help me connect to the internet with the proper driver. (zeller@live.com) (HowTos)

I'm having the hardest time trying to find an rpm for a WLAN in a gateway profile 6. I need the rpm because I can't connect to the internet. (which is why I need the driver!) I tried installing drivers on the live cd to see if they actually worked, which none did.

my apartment has a very weak public wifi signal.

I recently came upon a Dell 1545 Inspiron laptop and decided to put a fresh install of Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. At first I couldn't connect to the internet because I did not install the driver for my wireless card (broadcom 4312), but then I installed the first of the two drivers under the proprietary drivers list, it was the Broadcom b43 wireless driver.

I've installed ubuntu 10.10 dual booting with win 7. My internet connection is Direct DSL wired line to my modem. I dont have any wireless connections.

I even got connected using live CD of Ubuntu and after my installation too I got connected for the first time, very well without any problems.

Hi I just deleted my windows XP and installed Ubuntu 9.10 earlier this morning. I used wired connection to get drivers for my wireless network card.

When I did lspci, the very last line states:

Network Controller: Broadcom Coporation BCM4311 902.11b/g WLAN(rev 01)

Sorry if there is a tread that can answer this, but I want a personal answer to my problem.

Soo, I just installed Ubuntu 9.10 and everything was ok util I was going to connect to internet. I just cant't find any way to connect to any wireless networks. I'm living in a board school so wireless is my only way to connect to internet.
